Publishing & Editorial Activity

Epistemiq as a publisher

Epistemiq operates as an independent policy and research publisher, producing and disseminating analytical publications under its own editorial responsibility. Publishing activity forms a core part of Epistemiq’s mission to support informed decision-making and disciplined public debate in complex policy environments.

Publications may include policy reports, analytical studies, indexes, edited volumes, and books intended for professional, institutional, or general audiences.

Editorial responsibility and standards

All publications issued by Epistemiq are produced under defined editorial oversight. This includes responsibility for:

  • editorial direction and thematic coherence
  • analytical quality and methodological transparency
  • clarity regarding evidence, assumptions, and uncertainty
  • distinction between analysis, judgement, and advocacy

Epistemiq does not publish anonymous or ghost-written material. Authorship, editorial responsibility, and institutional affiliation are made explicit in all publications.

Intellectual property and rights

Epistemiq holds and manages intellectual property rights for publications issued under its name or imprint, unless otherwise specified by contractual agreement. This may include:

  • copyright in original analytical content
  • editorial IP in compiled or edited works
  • database and framework rights for indexes and measurement tools

Where publications are produced in collaboration with authors, partners, or commissioning entities, intellectual property arrangements are governed by written agreements defining ownership, licensing, and permitted uses.

Publishing formats and dissemination

Epistemiq publishes content in formats appropriate to professional and institutional audiences. These may include:

  • digital and print publications
  • platform-based distribution (including commercial publishing platforms)
  • commissioned and non-commissioned works
  • public and restricted-access publications

Distribution channels are selected based on audience, purpose, and editorial considerations, not on volume or visibility.

Independence and commissioning

Epistemiq may publish both internally developed and externally commissioned work. Commissioning does not imply endorsement of policy positions beyond the scope of the analysis presented.

Editorial independence is maintained irrespective of funding source, commissioning entity, or distribution channel.

Imprint and attribution

Publications issued by Epistemiq may appear under the Epistemiq name or under a dedicated editorial imprint associated with the organisation. All such publications clearly indicate:

  • the publishing entity
  • year of publication
  • editorial responsibility
  • applicable copyright and licensing terms
